8th Annual Celebrate Freedom!
Celebrate Freedom! is a discount program for active military, the reserves, the National Guard, retired military personnel as well as military veterans, law enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical services during the entire month of August. To receive this discount you must bring your ID to Pigeon Forge Welcome Center. Welcome Center Location: 1950 Parkway, Pigeon Forge. Located next to the Miracle Theater.

5th Annual StringTime in the Smokies
Some of the country’s finest bluegrass musicians pay tribute to the music to the Smoky Mountains with free concerts in Patriot Park located in downtown Pigeon Forge.

Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival
Come and enjoy a Winter Wonderland in the Heart of the Smokies. Dollywood gets all decked out for the holidays with millions of twinkling lights and serves up some traditional Christmas favorites with such things as Wassail and hot cider.

18th Annual Winterfest Kick-Off & Chili Cook-Off
Over 20 chili vendors will serve up the most mouth-watering recipes in portions suitable for sampling, then you will get to cast your vote for People’s Choice Award once you have been pleasantly filled. Admission is only $7 for a spoon and a voting ballot, and the evening’s program includes the “flip of the switch” for the second phase of the Gatlinburg Winter Magic lights program, so come on down!

New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks
Gatlinburg welcomes the arrival of 2008 with a street party that begins around 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31. At the stroke of midnight, the sky will light up with a fireworks and music show. The event is free to the public and features music and free party favors. Located on Historic Nature Trail Rd near the Space Needle in downtown Gatlinburg.
