Townsend Camping
Camping is one of the biggest attractions for visitors coming
to Townsend, and many campgrounds are available for campers to
enjoy. Some have homelike amenities whereas others are more rustic
for the camper brave enough to go without water and electricity.
Tremont Hills Campground is just feet from the entrance of the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and RV sites are available as
well as shaded riverside tent spots. Little River Village
Campground offers great bathhouses and hot showers as well as a
swimming pool, playground, and general store. Or try Lazy Daze
Campground with river sites complete with decks and concrete
patios. Most campgrounds also offer one and two room log cabins
for the rustic camping experience with just a little more comfort.
Whether you would prefer to have hotel-like bathrooms and a cable
hookup for your RV or you would prefer to pitch a tent in a quiet
spot where youll only hear the sound of the Little River and the
birds chirping, you will be sure to find what youre looking for
in Townsend.
